My background
I'm a Scottish illustrator based in East London.
I studied Product Design Engineering at The Glasgow School of Art. I spent the next ten years honing my creative problem-solving skills as a manufacturing operations manager.
In 2009 I took time off to teach art at a school for deaf children in Sri Lanka, a country where I had lived and volunteered at 18. These trips shaped my understanding of the world and how creativity can break barriers.
In 2019, I started my own craft homeware business and was awarded East London Innovator by Here East for my sustainable craft workshops. These featured in The Guardian, Time Out and BBC Earth. I also co-founded a mindfulness product business with my husband. We designed and produced high volumes of gifts and planners for the UK, US and German markets. Our products were featured in various magazines such as Closer and Cosmopolitan.
After winding down production in 2023, I focused on my art practice, drawing from life and developing digital drawing techniques for illustration.
Living in East London, I’m influenced by street art and I enjoy drawing from life and exploring exhibitions in the city.
In early 2024, I began setting myself illustration briefs through my blog ‘The New Illustrator.’ I also joined the Association of Illustrators and was admitted into Inky Goodness Collective, through which I've completed projects set by industry art directors.
I’m currently developing an illustrated collection to license and am open to opportunities in branding, advertising, community art and publishing.
